Lenovo’s Moto Z2 Play and Moto Z2 Force have been leaked quite extensively, and now another render of what’s said to be the upcoming Moto Z2 has also surfaced online. The picture shows the front of the device in black, but doesn’t show how thin it is, or give away much information about its ports. The design of the handset is very close to what’s been seen thus far with the Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play, which cleaves close to the design of many other Moto devices coming this year with a broad range of price tags. The general feeling here is that Motorola is creating a standardized design convention and that the Moto Z2 series is meant to be its beacon, though that has yet to be confirmed by the company.
The outermost ring of the newly leaked Moto Z2 is silver and glossy, housing the volume buttons and power button on the right side of the phone, along with antenna lines at the top and bottom where the USB Type-C port is located. The same rounded rectangular fingerprint scanner seen on many newer Moto devices, including other leaked members of the Moto Z2 family, is present here. Above what’s said to be a 5.5-inch screen is a Moto logo, speaker grill, and a front-facing camera to the right and flash to the left. A proximity sensor is probably hidden in there somewhere but is hard to see due to the black finish. The same can likely be said of a frontal microphone near the bottom, which was present in some previous leaks of the Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play.
This leak only shows the Moto Z2 from a single angle, so it remains to be seen whether the device surfaces again before the Lenovo-owned company officially unveils it at some point in the future. A leaked render from last month that supposedly depicted the Moto Z2 had shown a very thin phone with a dual camera setup but was quite blurry and the handset it featured seemingly wasn’t identical to the one that can be seen above. In any case, more details on the upcoming handset will likely be available in the coming weeks.
