The Nokia 6 was originally announced back in January this year, and the phone has just surfaced at the FCC. That being said, the device launched back in January in China, but its global launch occurred during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona which took place back in February. Well, it seems like there’s a possibility that the phone will reach the US at some point, though this certification does not guarantee that, so don’t jump to conclusions just yet.
The Nokia 6 arrived at the FCC with a model number TA-1039, in case you were wondering. The Nokia 6 is actually quite affordable in China, and even though it is a bit more expensive outside of China, this phone still belongs in the budget category of devices. The Nokia 6 is fueled by the Snapdragon 430 64-bit octa-core SoC by Qualcomm, and that is the company’s entry-level processor which comes with the Adreno 505 GPU for graphics processing. The Nokia 6 is made out of metal, and it comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The build quality of this handset is quite impressive, and the device packs in 3GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on which variant you pick up. The 3GB RAM model of the Nokia 6 comes with 32GB of native storage, while the 4GB RAM variant packs in 64GB of storage. You can expand upon that storage limit if you’d like, all you need is a microSD card, and the Nokia 6 supports microSD card slots of up to 256GB.
The Nokia 6 boasts a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display, and a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, while you’re also getting fast charging here. A 16-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of the Nokia 6, while an 8-megapixel camera is available on the front side of this smartphone. Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Nokia 6, and Nokia did not exactly put a skin on top of it, you’ll only find a couple of extra apps on the device, that’s it. The Nokia 6 was announced alongside the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3310 (2017) handsets, and if you’d like to read more about them, click here.
