A new Nubia smartphone with a dual camera setup leaked in an image posted on the Chinese social media site Weibo on Friday. The device depicted in the low-resolution picture that can be seen above looks like a crossover between the recently released Nubia Z17 Mini and the Meizu E2 since its overall design language matches the former, but it also features a 4-LED flash that debuted on the latter. Two dual-LED, dual-tone flash sets placed on the top antenna band of the rear plate of the device were one of the defining characteristics of the Meizu E2 that was officially unveiled in late April, and it seems that ZTE’s subsidiary might be interested in releasing a handset with a similar feature in the near future. The only difference between the two smartphones is that the Meizu E2 boasted a 4-LED flash to the right side of its rear camera, while the newly leaked device sports the same setup to the left of the main camera, in the top-left corner of its backplate.
Given the source and the quality of the image depicting the mysterious Nubia-branded phone, it remains to be seen whether the device that’s shown above truly exists and will the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer release it at some point in the future. The image doesn’t reveal many other details about the handset, save for the fact that it might be offered in a matte color and apparently won’t feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as none can be seen on the top two-thirds of its rear plate. In light of that fact, the handset will likely feature a physical Home button with an integrated fingerprint scanner, unlike the recently unveiled Nubia Z17 Mini.
Finally, the first image of the Mysterious Nubia handset suggests that the device is at least partially made of metal and boasts noticeably rounded corners. Provided that the smartphone in question actually exists, it may be a while before the Chinese tech giant announces it seeing how the company just launched the aforementioned mid-ranger and likely won’t be releasing new phones in the coming weeks.
