Nubia’s new flagship, the Nubia Z17, is coming, and a real life image of this smartphone has just surfaced. If you take a look at the provided image, you will see the device in the flesh, and as you can see, the phone’s side bezels are extremely thin, which is something previous leaks suggested as well. The Nubia Z17 actually got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) a while back, and the company’s CEO confirmed recently that the device will be water resistant.
The Nubia Z17 will be made out of metal and glass it seems, and it will sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The company’s circular home key is placed below the display, and all of its physical keys can be found on the right, volume up, volume down and power / lock keys. The company’s branding is placed on the back, and the device will sport a dual-LED flash on the back, along with a dual camera setup. A type-C USB port will be placed on the bottom of the device, and that’s where the device’s loudspeaker will be as well. The phone doesn’t seem to sport a curved display, despite the fact some previous images suggested that it will, it is, however, possible that Nubia is planning to release two variants of this phone, we’ll see. Now, TENAA not only shared the phone’s images a while back, but also the phone’s specs, so if you’re interested, read on.
The Nubia Z17 will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC will fuel this smartphone, along with the Adreno 540 GPU for graphics. A 16-megapixel shooter will be included on the front side of the Nubia Z17, and we still don’t know what to expect when it comes to the phone’s rear-facing cameras. TENAA did say that a 23-megapixel shooter will be included on the back, but the site did not mention anything about a second camera. Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on the device, along with Nubia’s custom UI, and a 3,100mAh battery will also be included here, and it will not be removable. The phone will be available in Silver and Gold color variants, if TENAA is to be believed. The Nubia Z11 was announced in June 2016, which probably means that the Nubia Z17 will land next month.
