Two different models of a new smartphone from China-based technology company Smartisan have shown up on popular benchmarking site GFXBench, revealing quite a bit about its hardware specs. As per the listing, the device will seemingly be a premium mid-ranger that will ship in two different variants – one with model number OD103 and another, with model number OD105. According to the listing, the Smartisan OD103 and OD105 will both have pretty much identical hardware, with the only difference apparently showing up in the storage department. While one of the variants will seemingly ship with 64GB of internal storage, the other one will, apparently, come with a whopping 128GB of built-in storage.
As is to be expected, however, the available storage will be significantly lower in both cases, seeing as there is only 53GB of storage listed in the first instance, and 110GB in the latter. The rest of the hardware specifications of the two models are expected to remain pretty much identical, including a 5.5-inch 1080p display panel and 4GB of RAM. The device will be powered by an octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz, while an Adreno 506 GPU will take care of the graphics processing duties. In terms of optics, the handset will sport a 12 or 13-megapixel camera on the back with flash and auto-focus, while the front-facing selfie-cam will most likely be a 16-megapixel unit (listed as 15-megapixel). Sensors will include an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a light sensor, a proximity sensor, a pedometer, an altimeter and a magnetometer (e-compass).
It will be interesting to see when Smartisan decides to bring this device to the market and, at what price-point. The company is one of the very few smartphone-makers that don’t flood the market with a million devices every year. Having started its journey in 2014 with the flagship Samrtisan T1, the company launched the mid-range Smartisan U1 the next year, and followed that up with the Smartisan T2 later in the year. Late last year, the company unveiled its flagship M1 and M1L smartphones with the Snapdragon 821, while earlier this month, the company released an all-new smartphone called the ‘Nuts Pro’ that comes with 4GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch display.
