Last week, T-Mobile announced a slew of things, perhaps the two biggest announcements are launching today. That’s T-Mobile’s DIGITS, as well as its promo for getting Verizon customers to switch over to the Magenta network. With T-Mobile DIGITS, users will be able to use their phone number on virtually any smartphone, tablet or even desktop. That includes using smartphones on other networks. You’ll be able to use your T-Mobile number on a Sprint smartphone, which is a pretty cool concept, and it’s really something that Google Voice has been doing for a few years. It means that your phone number is no longer tied to just one device, or even one SIM card. T-Mobile has been beta testing DIGITS for a few months (it launched in December, in beta test) and now it’s available to all.
Moving over to T-Mobile’s Verizon promotion, which they are using the hashtag #GetOutOfTheRed for this promotion. Those that have the iPhone or Google Pixel, can head over to T-Mobile, and it will pay off your phone, as well as cover your fees for switching to the carrier. Now if you don’t have a Google Pixel or iPhone, you can still switch and T-Mobile will cover your fees for switching – it just cover your device payments if you don’t own the device already. On top of that, T-Mobile is also offering up two lines free for those that already have two lines at T-Mobile. Of course, that’s only for current customers, but that does also launch today.
T-Mobile is launching some pretty interesting products as of late. DIGITS is looking to be a great product for their customers, especially since those with T-Mobile ONE Plus are able to get a DIGITS line for free right now, to celebrate the launch. Customers are also able to move their existing number over to a DIGITS line. And add that to the Verizon promotion that they are running right now, T-Mobile is on pace for a pretty good Q2 and possibly Q3, depending on how long this Verizon promotion lasts. T-Mobile has not said how long it’ll be available for.
