The OnePlus 5’s announcement is right around the corner, and several new renders of the device have just surfaced. We have seen a ton of different designs when it comes to the OnePlus 5, leaks that contradict one another, and these newly leaked designs are different than the ones that came before them. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll be able to see two matte black leaked OnePlus 5 images, and a single silver OnePlus 5 design. The designs looks similar, but are somewhat different, even though both of them sport a dual camera setup on the back.
If you take a closer look at these images, you will that their antenna placement is different, and the same can be said for the noise canceling microphone on the back. That microphone is located above an LED flash on the black phone, while it is placed next to an LED sensor on the silver unit. The volume up and volume down buttons can be found on the left-hand side of the black phone, while they’re located on the right-hand side on the silver unit. All in all, these two designs are quite different, and we also get to see the front side of the black-colored OnePlus 5 leaked unit. As you can see, it resembles the OnePlus 3(T) quite a bit, a fingerprint scanner / home key is placed below the display, and the general shape of the device resembles the OnePlus 3(T). Its display seems to be slightly curved on the sides, but it seems like we’re looking at a regular 2.5D curved glass here, nothing else.
Now, is it possible that one of these two leaked designs is legit? Well, yes, it is possible, the OnePlus 5 is actually expected to resemble its predecessor, with the addition of a dual camera setup on the back. So, the phone will almost certainly be made out of metal, and will sport a fingerprint scanner below the display. The OnePlus 5 surfaced on AnTuTu earlier today, and that listing revealed that the device will sport a fullHD display, along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC will fuel the OnePlus 5, and the Adreno 540 GPU will also be included here for graphics processing. Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on the OnePlus 5, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find OnePlus’ OxygenOS skin. OnePlus already confirmed that the phone is coming this summer, and chances are it will be announced next month.
