Video: Xiaomi Mi 6 Is Rather Easy To Fix, Teardown Reveals

The Xiaomi Mi 6 was announced at the end of last month, and the first teardown video for Xiaomi’s new flagship has just surfaced. Now, based on this video, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is actually really easy to fix, which is good news, of course, as you won’t have many issues if something goes wrong on the inside. Now, this teardown is actually in Chinese, unfortunately, but the video itself reveals quite a bit of info, so if you’re interested, you can check it out, it’s embedded down below.

Now, if you ever watched the Xiaomi Mi 5 teardown video, or perhaps opened up the phone yourself, this procedure will be quite familiar to you. First and foremost, you’ll need a suction cup of some sort in order to remove the phone’s back cover. In addition to that, a thin tool for prying open the back cover after you pop it out will help, or you can use your fingernails. After you open up the phone, you will get to see its battery, but you won’t be able to remove it just that easily. For the next step, you’ll need a screwdriver in order to remove the plate that is placed in the upper portion of the phone, and get access to the phone’s camera sensors, RAM, SoC, and so on. That’s more or less it, after this step you will have access to the vast majority of the phone’s internals, and with a couple of more steps you can remove the rest of the phone’s internals as well.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is made out of metal and glass, and people usually presume that it will be difficult to repair because of it, but that’s not the case here. The Xiaomi Mi 5 was actually quite similar in that regard, but the Xiaomi Mi 6 seems to be even easier to fix, which is good news. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is currently available only in China, the company is hosting flash sales for the device, and it will become available outside of Xiaomi’s home country in the near future. The device sports a 5.15-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, and sports two 12-megapixel cameras on the back. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is available in a number of color variants, and if you’d like to know more about the device, click here.
