Following its arrival in the UK and some other parts of Europe, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium has just landed in China as well. The company’s new flagship is one of the most powerful smartphones currently available, and it was announced back in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Having said that, the phone is currently listed in China for 5,699 Yuan, which translates to approximately $827. The device can be purchased directly from Sony, or via JingDong Mall (JD.com or Lynx. As you can see, the Xperia XZ Premium is not exactly the most affordable smartphone around, but that price point was to be expected, as that price point is pretty much identical to the one the phone carries in Europe, and this is, after all, Sony’s flagship.
For comparison’s sake, it’s worth noting that the device costs £649 ($836) in the UK and you can get it for €749 ($828) in other parts of Europe. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is quite powerful, though it will be interesting to see will it be able to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus and the LG G6, as it is in that price range. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is made out of metal and glass, and it resembles a number of other Xperia-branded devices which are currently available out in the market. This phone has really thin side bezels, but its bezels above and below the display are quite thick. This phone is rather tall despite the fact its display is not all that huge, the Xperia XZ Premium comes with a 5.46-inch display which sports a 4K resolution. This smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, and it sports a 3,230mAh battery on the inside. The device packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage.
Now, the Xperia XZ Premium comes with a 19-megapixel rear-facing camera, this is Sony’s IMX400 sensors, actually, and it’s quite a capable snapper. A 13-megapixel shooter can be found on the phone’s front side, and Android 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Xperia XZ Premium, with the company’s custom UI that is placed on top of it. The Xperia XZ Premium is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, and if you’d like to read more about this smartphone, click here.
