Atari will showcase several mobile games at E3 this year including one of its already available titles, RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch, which Atari boasts has been downloaded on mobile devices a total of seven million times since its launch a few months ago. While this isn’t a new game, Atari does plan to show off and discuss details of the upcoming update and features that will bring in some new content for players to get excited about, and with E3 only a week away those details will be popping up soon enough.
In addition to the updated content for RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch, Atari will be showing off content for two of its upcoming mobile games as well. Included in these is a game called Goon Squad which revolves around the world of the mob. There isn’t a ton of detail about the game just yet but Atari has shared some information on the overall theme of the game. According to Atari, players in Goon Squad will be placed right in the middle of the criminal underworld as someone who is trying to climb the ranks of the mob. Players will be able to work their way towards becoming the godfather, and by the sounds of it Goon Squad will be somewhat of a card-based game as players will be able to collect cards that help them reach their ultimate goal of ruling the mob.
The second new game that Atari has coming up which will be showcased at E3 next week is called Lunar Battle. This will be a city builder and action game in which players will be able to build up their space bases but also engage in space shooter battles, as well as explore uncharted territory in the deep reaches of near and far away galaxies. Atari doesn’t mention when either of the two new games will be available for download but chances are they will share launch date information once E3 starts. Both Lunar Battle and Goon Squad will be free-to-play titles which means there will be in-app purchases as well as the possibility of ads being included throughout the game, though they won’t necessarily be obtrusive.
