Bezel-Free, Sharp-Branded Phone Leaks, Is It Just A Concept?

Sharp is a Japan-based electronics manufacturer which released quite a few interestingly-designed smartphones thus far, and yet another Sharp-branded smartphone just popped up on Weibo (Chinese social network). If you take a look at the provided images in the gallery down below, you’ll be able to see a bezel-less smartphone, which, truth be said, looks more like a concept smartphone than anything else, but considering that the company already released several almost bezel-less devices, who knows, it might be something Sharp is planning to release in the future.

As you can see, this phone looks like a combination between the Xiaomi Mi MIX, and the Essential PH-1. This handset has no bezel around its display whatsoever, which is yet another reason why this is probably just a concept phone. We might see a completely bezel-less smartphone out in the market at some point, but chances are this is not it. Now, Sharp was expected to release a smartphone in China at the end of last month, but that did not happen, though the company did re-activate its Weibo account, so we might see some new products from Sharp for the Chinese market at some point. The Sharp Aquos Xx is the latest Sharp-branded product which sports an almost bezel-less design, even though this handset is not the latest Sharp-branded smartphone to reach the market. The Sharp Aquos Xx was announced way back in May 2015, though, so it might be time for the company to release its successor, or something of the sort.

For those of you who are not aware, Sharp pretty much kicked off the whole trend of bezel-cutting back when they released the Sharp Aquos Crystal smartphone, which happened in August 2014. That phone did not sport any bezel above the display, or on its sides, but it did come with a rather big chin below the display. Its successor was also announced by the company, back in May 2015, which is exactly when the aforementioned Aquos Xx landed. In any case, it’ll be interesting to see what is Sharp planning to release in China, and will we get yet another interestingly-designed smartphone by the end of this year, stay tuned.
