Essential is now confirming reservations for its phone as it appears that it has started to send emails to those who have signed up to reserve a purchase. The emails are alerting consumers who have shown interest in buying the Essential PH-1 that they are confirmed t have a spot in line reserved for the order they placed. Those receiving the emails are also being told that once the device launches and is ready to be shipped that they will be notified once more with this information. Since the reservations were basically the pre-order status, consumers simply have to wait for the Essential PH-1 to show up at their doorsteps.
With these emails now going out it may not be that long before devices start to ship out to consumers who have already reserved the PH-1 and any included accessories or add-ons. That said, this still doesn’t give any information on when exactly the phones will begin to ship out. According to Andy Rubin, the phone will go on sale this month, so consumers can certainly expect the Essential PH-1 to ship out sometime between now and the next few weeks, and although Rubin did not specify an exact date these reservation confirmation emails do suggest that the shipments are just around the corner.
Since it’s only June 8th at the time of this writing, there’s plenty of time left in the month for the Essential PH-1 to start shipping out to buyers, and it could very well ship out towards the very end of the month. Right now you can only reserve the phone in two of its colors – the Black Moon or Pure White options, but there will be two other available colors at some point. This includes the Stellar Grey and Ocean Depths models. It’s unclear whether or not these colors will become available once the PH-1 officially goes up for sale, or if consumers will have to wait. Essential’s long-awaited device has been the talk of the town when it comes to smartphones of late, thanks in part to Andy Rubin being the CEO, but also because of the many subtle teases leading up to its official announcement as well as the overall design and feature set that the PH-1 provides to the consumer. Excitement seems to be high for Essential’s first mobile device which is great news for the company as it’s entering a crowded market.
