FLIR ONE Pro Debuts as the Most Advanced Thermal Camera

FLIR Systems has just announced its latest thermal camera, the ONE Pro, there’s also the FLIR Gen 3 being announced. Some of the new features included in the FLIR ONE Pro is the fact that it comes with a thermal and a high-definition visible camera. It uses the company’s multispectral dynamic imaging (MSX) technology, and both models emboss high-fidelity, visible-light details onto the thermal imagery. This is done to dramatically improve image quality. FLIR did improve its app for both Android and iOS, it even includes tips for problem-solving within the app, this makes it easy to use the camera to find leaks and then figure out what to do about the leak. FLIR has also debuted a community for sharing images and videos within their app.

The company states that a feature that was highly requested from their customers, was the ability to use the FLIR ONE with a case on their smartphone. Now that is a possibility, thanks to OneFit. FLIR added an adjustable connection (whether that’s USB-C or Lightning) to the ONE Pro, which allows you to adjust it up to four millimeters, which is enough to accommodate most smartphone cases. Allowing the user to use the FLIR ONE Pro without having to remove their case. FLIR has also added support for smartwatches. Select Android Wear smartwatches and the Apple Watch are now compatible, allowing you to live stream thermal imagery, and see around corners, and of course, you can take videos and pictures from your smartwatch.

The FLIR ONE Pro was designed for both professionals and regular customers. Now while most people won’t have a need for a thermal imaging camera, especially one that connects to their smartphone, it is still a nice product to have available. It has a ruggedized body, so that it can take a beating if it needs to, and also is pretty easy to setup and operate. The FLIR ONE Pro is available today for $399 from FLIR’s website. It’ll be making its way over to retailers in July, so if you’d rather wait to pick it up from someone like Amazon, it’ll be available next month. It’ll also be available in either USB-C or Lightning connectors.
