A recent Google Pixel 2 leak is suggesting a nearly bezel-free screen. Although the image is small and it’s challenging to make out the smallest details in a more clear fashion, the image is clear enough to show that the design is mostly the same when compared with the Pixel and Pixel XL, both of which have the two-toned look on the back that features a matte finish for metal and Black glass on the top portion.
This particular area is what should be of interest in this image, as the top of the phone is where the rear-facing camera is housed and the leak shows the Pixel 2 will come with dual rear camera sensors that are said to be 16-megapixel, paired with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Aside from the design the leak alleges that the Google Pixel 2 will come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 processor which was recently stated to possibly be in development. This along with the full-screen look with the slimmest possible bezels of any Google phone to date would position this as a potential design for Google’s follow-ups to the Pixel and Pixel XL. It is also worth considering though that the Snapdragon 836 has not been confirmed as a real CPU that Qualcomm is working on, so this leaked image along with the rumored Snapdragon 836 CPU which is coming only two days after the rumor surfaced about the new SoC means you should probably take the leak with a grain of salt.
Another detail that needs to be considered is that the design of the “Pixel 2” up above is exactly the same as the original Pixel design short of the dual camera sensors and more screen real estate, and this makes things curious as Google has never put out a phone that has carried the same design as the phones from a previous year. This leak also looks similar to a concept image of the Pixel 2 that surfaced back in April which had really slim bezels as well. That said, the Pixel is technically Google’s first phone that was designed completely by Google, so there’s a chance that it has decided to keep the design of the Pixel successor the same as the original.
