OnePlus on Friday released another teaser for the OnePlus 5, its upcoming Android flagship that’s set to be unveiled later this month. A 10-second video posted on Twitter that can be seen below once again teases the dual camera setup of the device that was officially confirmed just yesterday, with the Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) telling consumers to “focus on what matters.” While extremely vague, the message does add more credence to recent reports that the OnePlus 5 won’t only improve on the image quality of the OnePlus 3T but will also feature a number of other imaging advancements compared to its predecessor.
With the model being the first OnePlus-branded device to feature a dual camera setup, the BBK Electronics-owned company may have opted to equip the handset with a wide angle lens that would allow it to shift focus in a swifter manner, though some industry insiders previously claimed that the OnePlus 5 will boast two identical 16-megapixel sensors. Speculation aside, the Shenzhen, Guangdong-based consumer electronics manufacturer already confirmed that its upcoming Android flagship will feature two horizontally arranged lenses in the top-left corner of its back panel that will be flanked by a dual LED, dual tone flash from the right. The OnePlus 5 is also set to ship with software developed by DxO Labs, a well-known imaging company that collaborated with OnePlus on its latest high-end smartphone.
Other key features of the OnePlus 5 include a 5.5-inch display panel with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixel protected by 2.5D glass and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, a 10nm system-on-chip (SoC) sporting eight Kyro cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.45GHz and the Adreno 540 GPU. The phone maker is expected to release two variants of the OnePlus 5 with different RAM and internal storage configurations, and the base model will reportedly be priced at around $515, depending on the market. If 6GB of RAM and 64GB of flash memory isn’t enough for you, you’ll also be able to pick up a model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, with that version going for approximately $590, according to recent reports.
