The Nubia Z17 mini was officially introduced in India exactly two months after the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer initially launched its mid-range Android smartphone in its home country. The device is set to be offered in the Black Gold variant, though it’s currently unclear whether the company has plans to offer more colors at some point in the future. According to the local branch of the Shenzhen, China-based phone maker, the Nubia Z17 mini will be priced at 19,999 rupees, which translates to approximately $310. The handset is set to ship to customers on Monday, June 12, with early registrations starting today. Consumers will be able to register their interest in the device by following the source link below in a few hours, as Nubia’s website is still unavailable as of this writing. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) confirmed that the Nubia Z17 mini will be available for purchase from the Indian branch of Amazon, though it remains to be seen whether it will later be sold by other popular e-commerce outlets in the country like Flipkart.
Nubia’s latest smartphone boasts a 5.2-inch display panel featuring a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, with the screen itself being protected by 2.5D glass. The Nubia Z17 mini is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 system-on-chip (SoC), a 64-bit piece of silicon with eight ARM Cortex cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 1.8GHz, as well as the Adreno 510 GPU. The phone also ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash memory that can be expanded by up to 256GB via a microSD card slot that doubles as a nano SIM tray due to the Hybrid Dual SIM setup of the device. The back of the Nubia Z17 mini hosts a dual camera system comprised of two horizontally arranged 13-megapixel lenses with an aperture of f/2.2. One sensor is dedicated to capturing colors, while the other one is of the monochrome variety, tasked only with recording black and white light. Apart from support for optical image stabilization (OIS), the main camera system of the handset can also record 4K video. The top bezel of the Nubia Z17 features a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a wide, 80-degree field of view.
The phone also ships with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, enhanced with the Nubia UI 4.0. All of the aforementioned hardware is fueled by a 2,950mAh non-removable battery with support for fast charging, Nubia said. More details on the availability of the handset should follow shortly.
