The OnePlus 5 may cost €550 in Europe if the latest contest rules are to be believed in. The company had announced the OnePlus 5 contest for Finnish users on the company’s official forums, this is a contest for a yearly music festival in Finland, and thanks to the rules of the contest, we can guess the price of the OnePlus 5. These rules have been shared on Facebook, and suggest not only the price of the device in Finland, but Europe in general, as most of Europe had the same price for the OnePlus 3T, and Finland was a part of that group of countries, so we’re guessing the same will happen with the OnePlus 5 as well.
Now, the grand prize of this contest is the OnePlus 5 and two three-day VIP passes for the music festival. Rules of this contest state that the value of the prize is €948, so, the device and two three-day passes for the event are included in that value. Well, each of the two VIP tickets for the event is priced at €199, which means we’re left with €550 after we deduct €398 from the overall contest value, and this could be, at least an approximate price point for the OnePlus 5. Do keep in mind that we’re only taking an educated guess here, based on the info that was provided, and if this info is accurate, that means that the OnePlus 5 will be considerably more expensive than the OnePlus 3(T). The OnePlus 3 cost €399 and the OnePlus 3T was priced at €439 when they launched in Europe. This also means that the phone could cost $550 in the US, as the OnePlus 3 was priced at $399 in the US, while the OnePlus 3T cost $439.
Now, we already have plenty of info about this smartphone, OnePlus had confirmed that the device will sport a fullHD display, that it will ship with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, and that it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor. The company also confirmed that it will launch on June 20, while it also hinted that a dual camera setup will be placed on the back of the device. Amazon India mistakenly shared some more info about the device yesterday, the site hinted that the OnePlus 5 will sport 8GB of RAM, well, at least one of its variants will.
