The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 had been announced by Xiaomi recently, and the phone’s first teardown has just popped up online. A site called ‘MyFixGuide’ has decided to tear apart the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in order to give us a better look at the phone’s internals, and ultimately, help some of you fix your phone if it comes to that. The company managed to acquire the Gold-colored Xiaomi Mi Max 2, which is actually the only model that Xiaomi introduced last month.. Having said that, let’s get started.
The first thing you need to do when cracking open this phablet, is to remove the SIM card tray, which is a standard procedure for pretty much every smartphone that comes with a pop-out SIM card tray. Following that, you’ll need a screwdriver in order to remove two screws which are placed at the very bottom of this phone, next to a Type-C USB port. You will need a suction cup for the next step, in order to open up the device, and in addition to that, something really thin (like a pick) will be needed so that you can crank it open all the way. Be careful though, take your time and do it slowly, no rush, the back cover is really easy to pop open, but be gentle about it considering that the back cover is connected to the rest of the phone, well, its fingerprint module is, so you’ll need to disconnect that cable afterwards. After you disconnect the fingerprint reader from the motherboard, you’re good to go, the main part of the device is now available, and you can see the device’s internals, its motherboard, battery, and so on. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is, much like its predecessor, a huge smartphone. This handset sports a 6.4-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core SoC, and it comes with a 5,300mAh battery. A 12-megapixel shooter can be found on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel camera is placed on its front side. Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and on top of it, you’re getting Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS.
