Alleged Redmi Note 5 Appears, Dual Camera Setup In Tow

A newly leaked image has just hit the internet which purportedly shows off the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Unfortunately, as is always the case with these kinds of photos, there’s no way to verify the authenticity of the device and only part of the alleged device is revealed. It also appears to be pictured inside of a slim-fitting TPU case, which at least partially obscures the device. However, just because the image only shows the back of the device, doesn’t mean that there isn’t any information to be gleaned from the photo. With that said, it bears mentioning that the photo could turn out to not be representative of the actual Redmi Note 5.

The alleged Xiaomi phablet bears some resemblance to some concept renders that were revealed late last month, with one or two notable differences, though it bears almost no similarities to the company’s Redmi Note 5A. For starters, the device appears to have a dual camera setup. If prior rumors turn out to be true, one of those will have a 16-megapixel sensor while the other will be a 15-megapixel sensor. Those are backed up by what appears to be a dual LED flash, which is also placed in a vertical orientation near the top portion of the camera array. Below the cameras is what appears to be a fingerprint scanner, which may also serve as a power button. Meanwhile, the left-hand edge – facing the back of the alleged Redmi Note 5 – of the device houses what appear to be volume rockers. A charging port can be seen along the bottom edge of the device, though the image is not quite clear enough to make out whether or not the included port is micro USB or USB Type-C. Finally, the device appears to be housed in a metal frame underneath the case.

It bears repeating at this point that the image should be taken with a grain of salt, at least until Xiaomi officially unveils the Redmi Note 5. Although accurate leaks aren’t necessarily uncommon in the mobile industry, there’s no guarantee that the device shown in the image is the real thing.
