Fossil’s new Q Neely and Q Jacqueline hybrid watches are targeting women. While they won’t be the first hybrid or smartwatches on the market to be aimed at female buyers, they are the latest from Fossil in the large lineup of timepieces offered by the company. What’s more is that both will hit the market later this year for a price of £159, which means that likely the only differences between the two will come down to the visual style of both watches.
Fossil doesn’t seem to have offered up any images of the Q Jacqueline yet, but the Q Neely can be seen above, coming with a Rose Gold watch case, three crown buttons on the right side of the case, and a leather strap, though Fossil will also offer multiple options when it comes to the strap choice which will include metal. It seems like the watch case will come in more than just the one color, but it hasn’t been made clear what the other finishes will be, and it should also be noted that the £159 price is for the base model of each watch, which should come with a 36mm case and probably a leather strap, as Fossil’s options with metal bands usually cost a bit more.
Each watch should be 12mm thick, keeping with the svelte design theme, and straps should come in multiple colors as well, with it being noted that the Jacqueline model will offer a Burgundy strap option. When it comes to hybrid features, there will be a third hand on the watch face for tracking activities like steps and such, and there will be an option for users to configure the hands to indicate the origin of notifications and alerts for things like calls, messages, emails, social and more. Since these are both hybrid watches and not smartwatches with a touchscreen like Fossil’s recently launched Q Explorist and Q Venture, there won’t be any ways to interact with the watch through a display, but they will alert users to incoming notifications through vibration. Both watches will be able to track things like calories burned and steps as well as monitor sleep, and should offer a half-year’s worth of battery life before needing to replace the batteries inside. In addition to the leather strap option like what you can see in the image above, Fossil is said to have straps for both watches that will be made of metal as well as silicon, so users it sounds like will have some choice in the style and material that fits them best.
