High-End Acer Chromebook 11 C771 Now Available On Amazon

The high-end Acer Chromebook 11 C771 (Ci56200) is now available for purchase from the U.S. edition of Amazon in limited quantities, with the product already being shipped by certain third-party resellers like Wholesale Connection. The Chrome OS-powered device boasts a rugged design and premium specs which can compete with even the newly announced Pixelbook flagship while still sporting a significantly more affordable price tag which presently hovers around the $550 mark, depending on the exact retailer. The Taiwanese original equipment manufacturer has yet to share official U.S. availability details for its high-end Chromebook but the warranty that comes with the model appears to be of the standard one-year variety.

The Chromebook 11 Ci56200 is meant to be both portable and powerful, featuring Intel’s Skylake Core i5 6200U processor clocked at a maximum operating frequency of 2.3GHz and being backed by 8GB of RAM, in addition to featuring 64GB of eMMC storage space. Just like its name suggests, Acer’s offering features an 11.6-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1,366 by 768 pixels, with the panel itself supporting touch controls and the device allowing you to fold it by 180 degrees. Apart from being resistant to spills of (non-acidic) liquids and having a tamper-proof keyboard, the Chromebook 11 Ci56200 also boasts a chassis that’s relatively resistant to impacts and should adequately protect the product from mechanical damage, at least to a certain degree. A standard HDMI port is part of the package, as is a USB Type-C 3.1 slot and two USB 3.0 ones. The storage space of the Chromebook 11 Ci56200 can be expanded via a microSD card slot by up to 256GB, Acer previously said.

With the availability of the product currently being limited to resellers, don’t expect to be able to use Amazon Prime benefits with your purchase. Anyone on the lookout for a similarly robust but less high-end device can save almost half of this model’s price by purchasing its Intel Celeron-powered counterpart. Both are technically members of the Chromebook 11 C771 product family, with the more affordable model being targeted at educational institutions and students. The Taiwanese company has been committing significant resources to the Chrome OS ecosystem in recent times, having already released a wide variety of products covering all price ranges and use cases.
