HTC U11 Life's Specs Surface, Stock Android 8.0 Oreo In Tow

A report surfaced back in September claiming that the HTC U11 Life will launch with stock Android, and now, some new info surfaced from a rather legitimate source. LlabTooFeR shared some new info regarding the HTC U11 Life on his Twitter account, and his tweet basically contains a bunch of HTC U11 Life specs. LlabTooFeR, a rather well-known HTC leakster, confirms that the HTC U11 Life will be a part of Google’s Android One program, which essentially means that it will ship with stock Android and receive updates directly from Google, similar to the Xiaomi Mi A1 handset which was announced quite recently.

That being said, it seems like the HTC U11 Life will be a mid-range smartphone. The source says that this smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 630 64-bit octa-core processor, and it will also pack in 3GB / 4GB of RAM, and 32GB / 64GB of storage. That probably means that the 3GB RAM variant will ship with 32GB of RAM, while the 4GB RAM model will come with 64GB of native storage. MicroSD expansion was not mentioned by the source, so we’ll have to wait and see if it will be available or not. This handset will ship with a 16-megapixel shooter on its back, while it will pack in a 16-megapixel snapper on the front as well, though we’re presuming that the main shooter (on the back) will be more capable than the device’s front-facing camera. A 2,600mAh non-removable battery will be included in this package as well, and the device will sport a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, as per the provided info.

The HTC U11 Life will come with IP67 certification for water and dust resistance, while it will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. HTC’s Edge Sense will be a part of this package, and the same can be said for USonic. Based on the name of this phone, we’re expecting it to sport a similar design to the HTC U11, HTC’s current flagship, though it’s still unknown whether the device will be made out of metal and glass, or will it sport a metal unibody build. There you have it, this phone is expected to launch before the end of the year, so stay tuned.
