Thanks to some newly leaked renders, the wait may be over to finally catch the first glimpse at HTC’s upcoming U11 Plus. In fact, the renders are alleged to show off the device from nearly every angle including in a video that shows off the renders as well. What’s more, some technical information with regards to the dimensions of the handset has also reportedly been revealed. Following several other leaks today, that doesn’t leave a whole lot of information for the manufacturer to unveil. It bears repeating that any of the leaks, thus far, could turn out to be inaccurate. However, everybody should know soon enough, since HTC is holding an event on November 2nd and its newest device is expected to be announced at that time.
As to the renders themselves, HTC’s U11 Plus is – as previously mentioned – shown in full detail, revealing a device that bears striking resemblance to the original HTC U11. If the images are accurate, the U11 Plus also kept a single camera on both front and back and it is still encased in the attractive mineral-laden “Liquid Surface” of its predecessor. There are plenty of pin-holes in that casing, indicating that HTC may intend to continue with the 4-microphone setup of the U11. Meanwhile, there is still no headphone jack on the device pictured, so users will likely have to use Bluetooth, USB Type-C headphones, or a USB Type-C adapter on that front. With that said, the U11 Plus is said to come with a 6-inch screen with a Quad HD+ (3200×1800) resolution. That’s nestled into a frame measuring 158.2 mm (length) x 74.6 mm (width) x 9.1 mm (depth), according to the source. That’s only a very slight increase over the previous device and the bezels in the renders definitely appear to reflect this. To help with that, the fingerprint sensor has jumped to the back of the device, more in line with HTC’s biggest competitors.
As to the internals, they will likely remain similar to the original U11. Suspected benchmarks for the device, as well as previous leaks, suggest it will arrive with the same Snapdragon 835 SoC since that is still the best chipset on the market. It is also expected to ship with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, combined with 64GB and 128GB of storage, depending on the variant chosen. One area that has reportedly been improved is in the size of the device’s battery. Where the HTC U11 only packed in a 3,000 mAh battery, the U11 Plus may arrive with a 4,000 mAh battery inside, if the most recent rumors are to be believed.
