Noon Smart Controls Lights With Touchscreen Switch

The  Noon Smart Lighting System is now available in retail outlets in the United States for those looking to expand their home automation. The system controls and coordinates lights in the home and it requires one Remote Director switch to be placed in a room. It has a touch-screen OLED display where the user could select a lighting scene by swiping on the screen of the switch. The Room Director is capable of stabilizing the electric current to prevent lights from flickering and it also sports a dedicated motion sensor for activating the night light scenario. Extension Switches, on the other hand, serve as a companion to the Room Director and the user may install up to 10 of the switches in a room.

Homeowners can install the Noon Smart Lighting System by themselves, although they may also request professional installation. Once the switches are in place, the system will then determine the types of light bulbs present in the home using a patented algorithm. It can identify fixtures like dimmable and non-dimmable bulbs, incandescent, CFL, LED, fluorescent, magnetic low voltage (MLV) and electronic low voltage (ELV) lighting. The system will automatically create three different lighting scenarios once it is installed, namely Relax, Everyday, and Bright and homeowners may design their own lighting scenario and control the lights remotely using the Noon app. Aside from the app and the Room Director, the homeowner can also control the lights through voice due to its integration with Amazon’s digital assistant Alexa.

The Noon Smart Lighting System can replace single-pole and multi-way switches although a ground wire and a neutral wire are both required to install the lighting system. The Noon Home products are now available in Best Buy, Home Depot, and the manufacturer’s website, ad it will also be available at B8TA starting this fall. A starter kit containing one Room Director, two Extension Switches, and three wall plates costs $399.99. However, if the items are purchased separately, the Room Director is priced at $199.99, the Extension Switches cost $99.99, and the Noon wall plates are available for $9.99. For homeowners who do not want to install the switches themselves, the company also offers professional install which costs $149.99 for three switches and an additional fee of $20 for every switch, but Noon Home has temporarily reduced the installation fee to $49.99.
