In addition to announcing the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro during its event in Berlin, Germany, Huawei has also announced the PORSCHE DESIGN Huawei Mate 10 handset. This is a special edition smartphone which comes with Porsche’s branding on top, and it’s considerably more expensive than the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Now, in terms of the design, the PORSCHE DESIGN Huawei Mate 10 Pro looks more or less like the Mate 10 Pro (even sports the same dimensions and weight), but it has a different branding attached to it, and it also sports a different color, Diamond Black is what Huawei calls it.
The PORSCHE DESIGN Huawei Mate 10 comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while you’ll find Porsche’s branding below its display. The PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 10 sports really thin bezels, just like the Mate 10 Pro, and it comes with a rather large 6-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) FullView OLED display. This smartphone is fueled by the Kirin 970 64-bit octa-core processor, just like the other two Mate 10 flagships, and it sports a 4,000mAh non-removable battery on the inside. Huawei’s SuperCharge fast charging is included in this package, and can charge up this battery from 0 to 58 percent in half an hour, according to Huawei. Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the PORSCHE DESIGN Huawei Mate 10, and this smartphone comes with a dual camera setup on the back. You will find 12 and 20-megapixel shooters on its back (RGB and monochrome sensors), and on top of them, Huawei included Leica’s lenses. An 8-megapixel snapper lies on the front side of this smartphone.
The PORSCHE DESIGN Huawei Mate 10 comes with two SIM card slots, and it is made out of metal and glass, even though you might think that Huawei included ceramic on the back based on how it looks. Huawei actually opted against ceramic because that would make the phone too heavy, said Richard Yu, Huawei’s CEO. The PORSCHE DESIGN Huawei Mate 10 also comes with HD audio, while it sports 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In terms of pricing, you’re looking at a €1,395 price tag here, and this phone, much like the other two Mate 10 flagships, will go on sale next month in a number of markets.
