Snapseed is Google’s very own photo editing application, and it has just passed 50 million downloads in the Google Play Store. Some of you may even recall that Snapseed was not owned by Google at first, but Google acquired the company behind this application quite some time ago. Having said that, Snapseed has been getting better with each update, and since Google acquired it, the company introduced quite a new features.
The latest more notable update arrived at the end of last month, when Google released some updates to the UI of the app, while presets have also been added. Now, the best thing when it comes to Snapseed, is the fact that it’s free, and it offers a ton of useful photo-editing tools for you to use. This app currently has an average rating of 4.5 stars, and in order to use it, you’ll need to own a phone which is running Android 4.4 KitKat or any other newer version of Android, so chances are that the vast majority of you have all the prerequisites to run this application without a problem. You can also edit RAW files using this app, which can be quite useful if you need to do a quick edit to a sunset you captured recently, or something of the sort. Snapseed comes with 29 tools and filters, including HDR, Brush, Structure, Perspective, Healing, and so on.
Using this application, you can tune your image by adjusting exposure and color automatically, or manually, if you want, you get all the tools in order to do a precise adjustment. A crop tool is included here as well, and so is a rotation tool, which lets you rotate images by 90 degrees at a time. White balance tool is also included here, while you can also add plain and stylized text on top of your images. There are a ton of frames available in Snapseed as well, which will let you add a new dimension to your images. The Double Exposure option is also available here, and you’re also getting tools for doing some precise editing to faces.
