Sony's Xperia Touch Portable Projector Now Available for $1699

Sony has announced pricing and availability for the Xperia Touch today. The Xperia Touch is priced at $1699 and is available right now through Amazon. It is eligible for Amazon Prime’s free two-day shipping, so it’ll arrive to your home within two days. The Xperia Touch portable projector was announced back in February at Mobile World Congress, and launched in the UK back in August. Now it is available in the US. It is a fairly pricey portable projector, but you can’t really compare it to the others on the market, since this one is much more high-end and offers a much better experience.

The Sony Xperia Touch can project images from 23-inches all the way up to 80-inches in HD quality. That may seem like a low resolution, but at 80-inches, that is going to use up a good chunk of power. Inside, it does have 3GB of RAM, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB-C connectivity, HDMI Type-D, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and two way stereo speakers. It is also running on Android 7.0 Nougat, which is a rather interesting choice for software on a projector. But it does make things a bit easier in terms of streaming from apps and such. There is a 1300mAh battery inside, which Sony says can last about an hour of projecting. That’s not long and that’s due to the fact that this does use a lot of power, and Sony is betting on users keeping it one place and not moving it around to much. Even though it is “portable”, it is a fairly large product.

Sony is well-known for its music quality and of course it has its own movie studio, so entertainment is a big deal for Sony, and that’s clear with the Xperia Touch. It’s a good projector to pick up for your entertainment center, for those times when a TV just won’t do. You can pick up the Sony Xperia Touch from Amazon, using the link down below. At the time of writing this, the Xperia Touch was selling pretty quick, so you may have to wait a bit before it actually ships to you.
