Vivo, the third-largest smartphone manufacturing company in China, has just announced its expansion plans. Vivo mainly operates in China, but the company has launched its first smartphone in Hong Kong today, the Vivo X20, as part of its global expansion. In the near future, Vivo actually plans to launch products in Taiwan, Singapore and Russia, and the latter will represent Vivo’s first step into the European market. That’s not all, however, as the company also plans to hit the African market next year.
If you take a look at the provided image above, you will notice markets that Vivo is aiming for (the company is already active in a number of these markets, actually), here they are in non-specific order: India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Russia, Morocco, Kenya, Pakistan, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Laos, Sri Lanka and Nepal. So, as you can see, Vivo has big plans for the coming months, as it is aiming to push its products to a ton of markets, though the US is not amongst them, at least not yet. Considering that the company is planning to launch its smartphones in Russia, it is possible that some other European markets might follow in 2018, though Vivo did not list any other European countries, so who knows. Vivo also mentioned that Chinese smartphone manufacturers now hold a record 48 percent of the global market share, which is quite a staggering number.
Vivo had actually introduced some rather interesting phones over the years, and it also boarded the ‘bezel-less’ train with the Vivo V7 Plus, Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus handset, all of which have been announced in September. The Vivo V7 plus comes with really thin bezels, a 5.99-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display, and 4GB of RAM. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 450 64-bit octa-core SoC, and ships with Android 7.1.2 Nougat, with Vivo’s custom UI on top of it. This is Vivo’s budget phone, which offers a really nice design, as is aimed at emerging markets. The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus, on the other hand, are somewhat more powerful. They also sport thin bezels, while they’re both fueled by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, and ship with 4GB of RAM. Both devices come with a dual 12-megapixel camera setup, and both ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, while Vivo’s Funtouch OS is installed on top of it.
