The biggest part of a smart home these days is actually making your home safer. Companies like Nest, August Home and even Ring, have been working to bring out more products for their ecosystems so that you can protect your entire home and keep a lookout on your home when you are not home. Now Wink has introduced Wink Lookout which expands its home safety ecosystem and is going to make it even easier to keep your home safe and sound.
Wink Lookout is a comprehensive home safety ecosystem, and with it comes a few new products. That includes a Wink Door Sensor and a Window Sensor, which can be easily installed and allow you to get alerts when the window or door is opened. There is also the Wink Motion Sensor, which will detect a wide range of motion, according to Wink, and you can also adjust the sensitivity so that you aren’t getting notifications of movement from your pets moving around during the day. Finally, there is the Wink Siren & Chime. This obviously works well with the sensors already mentioned, and will sound a siren as well as flash a light which will ward off intruders. There are ten different selectable sounds for the Chime, as well as three different volume levels. All of this works with the Wink Hub 2, which are all included in the Wink Lookout Smart Home Security Essentials kit.
Along with Wink Lookout, the company is also introducing a major update to its mobile app, bringing it to version 6.5. This brings Wink Lookout support, so you can check in your home when you aren’t around. It is free to use, so there are no hidden fees here, other than buying the Wink Lookout kit. With the Wink app, you will immediately get notifications when there is motion detected in your home, or one of the sensors notices that the window or door has been opened.
As far as pricing and availability goes, Wink Lookout will cost $199. The Wink Door/Window Sensor is going to cost $29 separately (2 come in the kit, but you can buy more), the Wink Siren & Chime is $39 and the Wink Motion Sensor is $39. All of which will be available on October 31st at Wink.com, Home Depot and Amazon.
