You can enable the battery saver feature on the Android Wear Oreo beta software. For those that use the battery saver feature on their watches (like the LG Watch Sport), this new toggle option lets you manually turn it on at your leisure just in case you decide you no want to use it, which should come in handy for helping the watches battery life last longer whenever you personally decide that you want to extend the life of your watch throughout the day. This should be a huge benefit for anyone who wants as much control as possible over the settings of their devices, especially since the battery saver would only enable itself automatically prior to this new feature when the battery dropped to a low enough percentage, with no way for the user to turn it on themselves. This also means you can disable it manually if you so choose.
In addition to the new battery saver toggle the Android Wear Oreo beta also includes another new feature which may have been missed due to it not being a big feature. For instance, there is now an ability to disable the touch screen with a newly added Touch Lock feature that can be found in the display settings menu. The touch screen can easily be re-enabled by simply pressing the power button, so there’s no need to go back to settings and disable the feature in the same way you enabled it, which makes it dead simple to use. That said, if you want to turn it back on, you will have to go back to settings to re-enable it for now.
These seem to be the only two new minor features which have been added to the software, at least for now. That said, this is just a beta version of the software for Android Wear, which leaves plenty of room for Google to add more features, whether big or small, and make the devices more functional. If no new features end up being added, at the very least it gives Google time to refine the features that it has added to the software and improve them as much as possible to make them even more useful than they already are.
