Google Is Adding The 'Explore' Feature To Keep

Google is adding the ‘Explore’ feature to its Keep note taking application at some point in the future. At the moment there is no indication of what the wait time will be for this feature to show up for users, but it appears that the feature is already present inside of the app, with all that seems left to do on Google’s part is flipping the switch and having Explore go life for users. That said, since the feature isn’t live yet there is every chance that Google could change something with it before it gets pushed, or add something to it just as easily.

Although the Explore feature in Keep isn’t live yet it’s still possible to figure out how it will work as it was discovered in the APK for the most recent version. The icon that you see in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides as of Google’s addition to those apps from last year is the same icon you will see in Keep once Google turns the feature on. It will be a little chat head style icon with a square shape and rounded edges with a four pointed start in the middle. This will sit up at the top of the app’s UI next to the icons for pinning a note, setting reminders, and archiving notes, so you should have no trouble finding and using the new feature once it’s all ready to go.

Tapping on this icon will show you any relevant suggestions that could be made with specific notes, like whether or not to add a reminder to something for example. Google is also making it so that you won’t have to constantly be checking the Explore feature to see when suggestions are available, as the icon will house a little red dot in the top right corner of it that was designed to alert you to a new suggestion, keeping in mind that once you see this and tap the icon and then enter into the Explore page, the red dot will disappear as you have already viewed the suggestions that will be there. In each suggestion you will have options to give a thumbs up or down to let Google know whether or not the suggestion was helpful, and an overflow menu will allow you to have a little bit of extra control over edits of the reminder and sending feedback.
