Samsung has just announced a new version of the Galaxy S8 Plus, the ‘SMARTgirl’ Limited Edition of the handset. This handset actually popped up on Samsung Spain’s official website, and it follows the release of the Burgundy Red Galaxy S8 handset which went on sale in South Korea yesterday. Now, the SMARTgirl Limited Edition Galaxy S8 Plus retains the same spec sheet of the regular Galaxy S8, but it’s different on the outside.
The SMARTgirl Limited Edition Galaxy S8 Plus sports a pink metallic finish, and it actually comes with a Swarovski-designed case, which should go along with the design of the phone itself. Now, it’s worth noting that Samsung manufactured only 7,000 of these units, which is why it has a ‘Limited Edition’ tag in its name. As far as software is concerned, this phone is identical to the regular Galaxy S8 Plus handset as well, no differences there. This smartphone will become available in Spain starting on December 1, and those of you who are planning to get it will have to splash out €949. Samsung did not mention whether this handset will launch in any other regions, though, but stay tuned, if it plans to release this handset in more countries, the company will probably let everyone know soon enough.
Considering that the SMARTgirl Galaxy S8 Plus is the same as the regular Galaxy S8 Plus, that means that it is made out of metal and glass, it sports a curved display, and it’s relatively not as large as its screen size suggests. The Galaxy S8 Plus comes with a 6.2-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display, while the phone packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, which is expendable. Samsung’s Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this smartphone, while the phone packs in a 3,500mAh non-removable battery. Android Nougat comes pre-installed on the device, along with Samsung’s custom UI. The Galaxy S8 Plus is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a single camera on its back. It’s also worth noting that Samsung Pay is supported here, and that Gorilla Glass 5 protects the display of the phone.
