Action Launcher Version 32 Unveiled With Bug Fixes And More

Action Launcher is getting a new version in a major update that has been rolled out last Friday as part of the launcher’s fifth anniversary celebration, introducing a few changes and a host of bug fixes to the Android mobile app. The launcher’s developer, Chris Lacy, announced the release of version 32 of Action Launcher plus a one-time sale for users to upgrade to the premium version, marking the launcher’s upgrade deal for the first time in three years. Keep in mind, though, that the sale runs for three days only, cutting the price of the Plus upgrade by 30 percent. That means you can now gain access to the app’s full array of premium features for less than $5.

On top of the sale, Action Launcher’s latest version also introduces a bevy of changes, including the Pixel 2 Launcher style that has now become the default appearance once you install the launcher on your mobile device. In addition to that, the “At a Glance” widget will be displayed by default. You can also start using the dock search box and the Oreo style app shortcuts even if you don’t have a Plus account or have not upgraded to the premium version yet for whatever reason, meaning that those features are now available to the free version of Action Launcher. With this new update, users of Android 8.1 Oreo will begin seeing a banner which bears the style of Oreo that shows storage permission requests in the settings panel. This configuration is meant to make the device’s wallpaper available to the Action Launcher for its Quicktheme feature since permission is necessary in order to gain access to the phone’s wallpaper.

In addition to those user interface-focused changes, the new version of Action Launcher also brings with it a plethora of bug fixes, just as recent updates to the launcher did. These fixes in particular include improvements to the boot up time, which means the launcher is now optimized to help boot your device faster. The update also fixed the “All Apps” scroll indicator position that jumped randomly prior to version 32 once app suggestions were off the screen. Other previous bugs patched by the update include the fading desktop when Google Now feed is in use. Finally, the version 3.0 of AdaptivePack, the companion app of Action Launcher that introduces Oreo’s adaptive icons to all handsets running Android 5.0 Lollipop or later, was also unveiled with 200 new icons, bringing its total number of icons now to 950.
