Alleged Screen Protectors Of Galaxy S9 Flagships Leak On Video

Alleged screen protectors said to be designed for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus leaked earlier today, having appeared in a hands-on video which can be seen below. As was the case with the vast majority of related leaks and rumors that appeared on the World Wide Web in recent months, the newly uncovered clip suggests Samsung’s premium devices won’t be a major departure from the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Instead, the two will seemingly be looking to continue the process of refining Samsung’s bezel-less formula that already started with the Galaxy Note 8 over the summer.

The newly spotted screen protectors indicate the Galaxy S9 lineup won’t feature bodies that are as rectangular as the one of the Galaxy Note 8 but will still sport curved corners and screens that wrap around the long edges of the two devices. The Infinity Display panel still appears to be in the center of Samsung’s design philosophy, being sandwiched between two slim bezels whose sizes are comparable to those found on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. A single-lens front camera setup still appears to be part of the package, much like an iris scanner, as suggested by the cutouts found on the leaked screen protectors.

The smaller Galaxy S9 is still expected to feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, whereas the Galaxy S9 Plus is rumored to retain the 6.2-inch screen with identical properties found on its direct predecessor. Besides the physical form factor, the two handsets are believed to differ from each other on multiple fronts as only the larger flagship is said to be sporting a dual-camera setup on its back and will offer 6GB of RAM, while its smaller counterpart is still believed to be shipping with a single rear sensor and 4GB of RAM. Both should still have a base of 64GB of storage space, though the Galaxy S9 Plus may be offered with as much as 512GB of internal flash memory. Android 8.0 Oreo is also expected to be part of the package, with the duo being set for an official launch in late February, according to recent reports.
