Amazon's Alexa Can Be A Great Holiday Helper

Amazon‘s Alexa can be a great holiday helper as the digital assistant has plenty of holiday-themed uses. Amazon recently highlighted plenty of Alexa’s holiday capabilities and though you might not have guessed it, Alexa appears to be fairly well-equipped when it comes to fulfilling requests that have to do with this festive time of the year. For example, Alexa is great for getting recipes that work best for the holiday season. For this users can simply ask Alexa to grab them a holiday recipe and Alexa will cook up a tasty recipe that will be sure to grab everyone’s attention at the table during the big day. Alexa is also pretty good at giving you the instructions on how to make some really good drinks, and if you’re the type that likes to enjoy a good holiday spirit or two then is here to help in the event you don’t know how to make your favorite holiday cocktails.

If you don’t necessarily need Alexa’s help in the kitchen this time around there are other ways Alexa can be of use during the holidays. As it turns out Alexa can play the perfect music for when you’re wrapping your Christmas gifts which, if you love to wrap gifts, will probably be a nice little feature to test out. Just say “Alexa, play me some songs for wrapping gifts” and you’ll get music specially curated to fit the activity.

Of course, something which isn’t technically related to the holidays in terms of Alexa features is the shopping functionality, as you can order anything from Amazon using Alexa at any point throughout the year, but if you happen to need some extra Christmas decorations then Alexa can help and all you have to do is ask it to place orders for the stuff you need, like lights, tree ornaments and more. Alexa even knows jokes and limericks based on the festive holiday season, so if you have people over or if you’re just by yourself and you’d like a little holiday pickmeup, ask Alexa to tell you  holiday joke and see what you get, you just might crack a smile. Lastly, if you have kids in the house, you can use the NORAD Tracks Santa skill to see when Santa will be arriving, making for a little bit of fun for the kids.
