The Samsung Galaxy S9 is not expected to arrive for another couple of months, and yet one more piece of the puzzle just leaked. If you take a look at the provided image, you will see regular silicone case which is allegedly made for the Galaxy S9. Based on the size of the main cutout on the back, this handset will ship with a single camera, below which you’ll get a fingerprint scanner, and that info is actually in line with some previous info and renders, but we’ll talk about that in a minute. Next to the camera and fingerprint scanner cutout, you’ll notice space for an LED flash, while this case also confirms that the power / lock key will be placed on the right while the volume up, volume down and Bixby buttons will be included on the left.
If you take a look at the bottom of this case, you will be able to see cutouts for a 3.5mm headphone jack, Type-C USB port, and space for the phone’s loudspeaker. So, it seems like the Galaxy S9 will sport a 3.5mm headphone jack after all, at least if this leak is accurate, of course. It is worth noting that this case popped up on Weibo (Chinese social network), so take this info with a grain of salt. In any case, a couple of days ago, both Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus renders surfaced, reporting that the Galaxy S9 will sport a single main snapper, while the Galaxy S9 Plus will ship with two cameras on its back. A couple of reports reiterated that info, and this case reports the same it seems. The Samsung Galaxy S9 will probably launch either during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next year, or in a separate event in H1 next year, we’ll see what option will Samsung opt for.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will resemble its predecessors, they will both be made out of metal and glass, quite probably, and Samsung will almost certainly release two SoC variants of these two smartphones, one variant will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845, while the other one will ship with Samsung’s new Exynos flagship processor. The two phones will sport curved displays, and the size of those displays will probably be quite similar to the Galaxy S8’s and S8 Plus’ display sizes. Android Oreo will come pre-installed on both phones, while you’ll get Samsung’s custom UI on top of Google’s operating system.
