The Google Pixel 2 was launched in India about a month ago, and the initial price point for the phone was Rs. 61,000, which translates to $950, and that means that the phone is considerably more expensive than it is in the US… well, things are a bit different now, as Flipkart has decided to discount the Pixel 2, and its Pixel 2 XL sibling, as part of its Big Shopping Days sales event. This is a not a straight up discount, so read more if you’re interested, we’ll explain everything.
Flipkart is now offering a direct Rs. 11,001 ($170) discount for the Pixel 2, and then issuing a Rs. 10,000 ($155) off on all credit and debit cards, which essentially means that you’ll pay only Rs. 39,999 ($620) for the phone (64GB storage variant). Now, this price point might not seem like a great deal for US consumers, but those of you who live in India are probably quite intrigued if you’ve been planning to pick up the Pixel 2, as this is a $325 discount. Now, the 128GB storage model of the device is also discounted, you can get it for Rs. 48,999 ($759) after the Rs. 10,000 additional discount on credit and debit cards. As far as the Google Pixel 2 XL is concerned, the phone is getting a flat discount of Rs. 5,000 ($77), and is eligible for an Rs. 8,000 ($124) additional discount for credit and debit cards, which means that you can get Rs. 13,000 ($201) for the Pixel 2 XL, and will have to pay Rs. 59,999 ($929) for the 64GB variant of the phone.
Having said that, Flipkart is also offering a buyback guarantee of Rs. 36,500 ($565) for the Pixel 2 (XL) if you return the phone in the first twelve months (since you bought it). Those of you who are interested in this sale should note that these two handsets will be offered at such steep discounts until December 9, so you don’t have a lot of time to grab one, and we also do not know how many units does Flipkart have to offer, so it may be wise to act fast if you’re interested.
