Hearthstone's Kobolds & Catacombs Expansion Is Now Live

Hearthstone’s Kobolds & Catacombs expansion is now live and bringing with it new card packs, new story play for single players who enjoy the campaign, and other new and exciting content that newcomers and seasoned long-time players will be able to enjoy for months to come. Since Hearthstone is a card battler game the most important content comes in the form of the cards, and for this particular new expansion there are a total of 135 new cards to collect and add to your decks in hopes of beating out your opponents on the game board.

In addition to new cards Blizzard is also gifting players with a new legendary weapon. That’s right, gifting, because players need to do little more than log into Hearthstone and Blizzard is rewarding you with a legendary weapon to equip to one of your classes. Blizzard does not state however, if players will get to pick which class they want the weapon for or if it is simply random and players will have to stick with what they’re given. There is a legendary weapon for each class though, so even if players don’t get to pick there is a chance they will get the one they’re hoping for. Other items are available in the new expansion too, such as spellstones and magic jewels which are specific to each class.

As for the new single player content, this is a new mode called Dungeon Runs which when completed will reward players with the players with cards from the new expansion and not just a few cards but three complete card packs. That said Blizzard notes that these Dungeon Runs will be one of Hearthstone’s “most daunting challenges” so that suggests that completing the Dungeon Run won’t necessarily be an easy task, and to facilitate players giving it a try on each of the nine classes, those who do end up gaining this accomplishment will get a new card back called the Candle King, letting everyone know that you managed to finish the Dungeon Run with each playable class in the game. Kobolds & Catacombs is available now across all the platforms where Hearthstone is available and it won’t cost you a thing so all you have to do is log into the game play, although you may need to update the game.
