Honor debuted its latest flagship, the View 10, earlier this month and now the new smartphone is finally available for pre-order in the UK and throughout Western Europe. It’ll have an asking price of £449.99 and it is available through Honor’s official website only right now. While pre-orders start today, the phone won’t be shipping until January 5th, so it won’t arrive in time for the holidays, unfortunately.
The Honor View 10 is the company’s second 18:9 aspect ratio display, behind the Honor 7X that was also announced at the same event in London on December 5th. The device is indeed a flagship from Honor, sporting a 5.99-inch Fullview display (marketing term for the 18:9 aspect ratio panel), along with the Kirin 970 processor inside and 4GB of RAM to boot. There will also be 64GB of storage, along with a micro SD card available for expanding the storage. The Honor View 10 does also sport a dual-camera setup, similar to the Huawei Mate 10 series, with a 16-megapixel and a 20-megapixel camera on board. Which is going to give you some incredible looking images from these cameras. There is also a 13-megapixel camera around front, for taking the all-important selfies as well. Finally, the Honor View 10 does run on Android 8.0 Oreo, making it the first Honor device to run the newest version of Android.
Honor’s new smartphone is definitely a head turner, with that huge display being in a somewhat small body, and top-notch specs. For £449, that’s a great value. Now the Honor View 10, while being available for pre-order in the UK right now, will be making its way into other markets including the US. But as of right now, there’s no word on when exactly the US will see this smartphone, but many signs are pointing towards it launching in January or slightly later than that. This won’t be the smartphone sold through US carriers, that Huawei’s CEO has been talking about. Seeing as Honor is all about selling direct to the consumer, and isn’t even available in actual stores, only available online. That’s actually a key selling point for Honor and its smartphones, so don’t expect it to pop up at carriers – though that would be good to see.
