The Honor View 10 is now available for pre-registrations in India, several weeks before its release in the South Asian country. As previously announced, the device will be sold as an Amazon Exclusive, much like the recently launched Honor 7X. The Chinese phone maker will be offering the Honor View 10 in Midnight Black and Navy Blue variants, with both being expected to have a price tag of approximately Rs. 38,000, as suggested by its already confirmed price for Europe (€499).
Originally announced in early December, the Honor View 10 is already available for pre-orders in the United Kingdom, though it’s currently unclear whether consumers in India will also be given a chance to place an advanced order on the Huawei-owned company‘s most powerful Android handset to date. The smartphone boasts a 5.99-inch display panel with an FHD+ resolution of 2,160 by 1,080 pixels amounting to a tall aspect ratio of 2:1, i.e. 18:9. Honor refers to this screen as the FullView Display, having previously suggested the panel was designed in order to provide users with a phablet-like experience in a compact form factor. Besides minimal bezels, another selling point of the Honor View 10 is the HiSilicon Kirin 970 chip powering it, which is the same SoC that’s found inside Huawei’s Mate 10 lineup of flagships. Coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, the Honor View 10 is advertised as an ultra-premium handset that’s both versatile and reliable.
The new smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, coupled with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0. Its dual-camera setup entails a 16-megapixel RGB sensor and a 20-megapixel monochrome module, both of which are installed behind f/1.8 lenses. The front camera found on the slim top bezel of the handset is a 13-megapixel affair with an f/2.0 lens. A Hybrid SIM setup is also part of the package, as is NFC, 4G VoLTE, and a 3,750mAh battery which isn’t removable but offers fast charging support. The Honor View 10 will be sold on a global level and will directly compete with relatively affordable flagships like the Nokia 8 and OnePlus 5T. Many of its aspects are also powered by artificial intelligence technologies, which Honor advertises as one of the smartphone’s hallmarks.
