Leak: Huawei's Upcoming Phone To Sport A 40MP Main Camera

Evan Blass has just shared a new tweet which is Huawei-related. According to the provided info, the company’s upcoming Huawei P-branded flagship could be an imaging powerhouse. Mr. Blass (aka @evleaks) said that a digital artist at one of Huawei’s creative agencies added the ‘PCE Series’ ads to the its’s portfolio (not the company’s portfolio, just to be clear), and you can check out these posters in the gallery down below.

Now, other than mentioning the ‘Huawei PCE Series’, these posters are also touting a 40-megapixel camera and a 5x Hybrid Zoom. In addition to that, a 24-megapixel selfie camera is also being mentioned here, and one of the posters also claims that the phone’s main snapper will be able to capture 100 percent more light thanks to new sensors and optics. AI will assist the camera as well, as it will be able to recognize scenes instantly, and ‘Auto Framing’ will also be included in the package. Leica’s branding is also included in every single one of these posters, so we can expect to see Leica’s lenses making a comeback here. So, this info surely comes as a surprise, and we’re only guessing that this is the company’s P-series of devices, as is Mr. Blass. These posters do mention the ‘PCE Series’, though, so it remains to be seen if such tech will be integrated on the inside of the Huawei P11, or is company planning to launch a whole new line of smartphones with such powerful cameras… it’s even possible that the company may change things up and change the name of the upcoming Huawei P11, who knows.

As a reminder, the Huawei P10 and its P10 Plus sibling were announced back in February this year, which means that their successors could launch in about two months or so, though nothing has been confirmed just yet. The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus do ship with Leica’s lenses as well, and those two phones can shoot some really nice pictures thanks to the 12 and 20-megapixel snappers that are located on the back of both of these smartphones. Huawei also packed in a rather compelling camera software to go along with that hardware, of course. If the Huawei PCE Series smartphone is real, chances are we’ll get more info about it in the near future, so stay tuned.
