The LG V30 Plus is set to launch in India next Wednesday, December 13th, the local division of the phone maker confirmed earlier this week, having already started sending invites for its upcoming unveiling event. The invite that can be seen below reveals the happening will be hosted by LG Electronics India Managing Director Ki Wan Kim, in addition to suggesting the Indian unit of the company is planning a similar promotional strategy to the one already adopted by its global marketing team which was heavily focused on advertising the Android flagship’s imaging capabilities. With a tagline telling consumers to “inspire,” “create,” and “share” with the LG V30, the firm appears adamant to continue promoting the handset as the ultimate mobile photography tool.
Compared to the regular LG V30, the V30 Plus ships with twice as much storage space, offering consumers 128GB of internal flash memory to work with, with its storage also being expandable by up to 256GB via a microSD card slot which can also double as a secondary Nano SIM tray. Another key difference between the two is the pair of LG QuadPlay earbuds that come bundled with the LG V30 Plus and has been specifically designed to take full advantage of the smartphone’s quad-DAC setup, unlike the ordinary in-ear headphones that ship with the V30. Besides that, the LG V30 Plus is still the same Android flagship launched by the South Korean tech giant in late summer, featuring a 6.0-inch POLED screen with a QHD+ resolution of 2,880 by 1,440 pixels amounting to a tall aspect ratio of 18:9, whereas the display itself is surrounded by minimal bezels. IP68-rated resistance to dust particles and water submersion is also part of the package, as is a 3.5mm audio jack and an all-glass body made in accordance with the MIL-STD 810G military durability standard.
While the Japanese version of the LG V30 Plus that’s marketed as the LG V35 ships with Android 8.0 Oreo, the one that’s set to launch in India and already retails in other parts of the world runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat-based LG UX 6.0+ and will receive an upgrade to a newer OS version in early 2018. No firm pricing details have yet been provided by the Seoul-based OEM, though Indian consumers can expect the handset to retail for approximately Rs. 58,000, i.e. $900.
