It seems like Meizu’s ‘Blue Charm’ brand will be getting a new logo in the near future, as the logo has been spotted in Meizu’s leaked letter. The content of the letter regards the Meizu M6 Note price cut, though that’s not all that important now, the important part is the new logo, which looks like two pills that stand one next to the other, as you can see in the provided image. Do keep in mind that this is not the first time we’re seeing the ‘Blue Charm’ logo online, and the first leak was actually fake, so take this info with a grain of salt, even though this info seems legit.
Now, some of you probably already know that Meizu is allegedly planning to rebrand ‘Blue Charm’ to ‘mBlu’ in the near future, and what’s even more important than that, is the back story behind all of this. Meizu has been releasing ‘Blue Charm’ smartphones for quite some time now, Blue Charm was not a separate part of the company, or anything like that, but Meizu decided to separate its business in three parts, one of which is ‘Blue Charm’. Earlier this year, Meizu announced its separation into three divisions, the Meizu division, Blue Charm division and Flyme division. The Meizu division is controlled by Jeffrey Wang, the company’s CEO and Chairman, and this division is responsible for releasing the company’s flagship products. The Blue Charm division is under the control of Li Nan, Meizu’s VP, and this division releases entry-level and mid-range smartphones, like the Meizu M6 and M6 Note, and also various accessories for Meizu’s handsets, like headphones, for example. And last, but not least, the Flyme division’s goal is to work on the company’s software, as most of you probably already know, Meizu’s smartphones ship with Flyme OS, the company’s UI which is based on Android.
That is more or less it, if this leak is accurate, chances are that Meizu will announce the change in the near future, as the company is not expected to release any new smartphones by the end of the year, at least not high-end ones. The company’s ‘bezel-less’ phone is coming, though, but it will launch next year, as the company’s exec confirmed a while back, and we still don’t know when exactly to expect that launch.
