The Meizu M3x is one of Meizu’s mid-range smartphones which dropped this year, and it seems like its successor is on the way. The company’s VP, Li Nan, actually revealed that the Meizu M3x’s successor is in plans for the company, and he also mentioned that the next-gen Meizu M3x will be considerably more powerful than its predecessor, which actually suggests that it could be a high-end smartphone. In addition to that, Mr. Nan hinted that the Meizu M3x (2018) could end up costing around 2,499 Yuan ($382), which is also suggesting that it will be way more powerful than its predecessor, as the original M3x was priced at 1,699 Yuan ($260).
Having said that, the Meizu M3x was announced back in November 2016, which means that its successor should arrive any day now, as it has been 13 months since the original M3x dropped. The original Meizu M3x was made out of metal and glass, which was not exactly something we were used to seeing from the company, as Meizu usually manufactures smartphone with metal unibody designs. In any case, the original Meizu M3x featured a front-facing fingerprint scanner, which was actually a part of the company’s multifunctional mBack physical home key. The device also sported a single camera on its back, and it was fueled by the Helio P20 SoC. The original Meizu M3x came in two variants, one variant shipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage, while the other one sported 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Now, it’s safe to assume that the new Meizu M3x will ship with considerably thinner bezels than its predecessor, and it will probably be made out of metal and glass yet again.
The Meizu M3x (2018) could arrive with one of Qualcomm’s processors, and it is possible that the inclusion of Qualcomm’s chip makes the phone a bit more expensive than before, but we’re only guessing now, not a single spec-related tidbit surfaced just yet. The Meizu M3x will probably arrive in the near future, before the Meizu M15 Plus and Meizu M6s, so stay tuned for that, we’ll let you know as soon as Meizu makes the phone official.
