OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition Confirmed For Northern Europe

The existence of the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition has already been previously confirmed in China, but while the device was expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market up until recently, the OEM has now confirmed that the flagship bearing the Star Wars logo will also be released in Northern European countries including Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, beginning with December 14.

According to the recent news, the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition will first be presented in Finland during a pop up event scheduled to take place at the Helsinki Tennis Palace on December 13. However, sales of the device will commence one day later on December 14 at Elisa as well as through the Chinese OEM’s online retail channels. In addition, the OnePlus 5T bearing the stormtrooper helmet will also be launched in Sweden and Denmark, however, no additional details have yet been revealed regarding the smartphone’s availability in these latter two countries. Nevertheless, the Star Wars: The Last Jedi movie from which this limited edition device draws inspiration is set to premiere on December 13 in all three Nordic countries and presumably the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition will launch in both Sweden and Denmark on or around that particular date as well.

As for the handset’s specifications, evidently, the highlight of this particular release lies in the exterior design featuring the Star Wars logo on the lower back panel and an appropriate color scheme with the alert slider featuring a subtle red finish. The standard OnePlus 5T was launched in two main configurations bearing 128GB of storage with 8GB of RAM or 64GB memory and 6GB of RAM, but at the moment it’s unclear which one of these two variants were chosen for the Star Wars treatment. Otherwise, the device should carry a 6-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080, a Snapdragon 835 chipset from Qualcomm, a dual main camera setup comprising 16 and 20-megapixel units, a 16-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfie enthusiasts, and a non-removable 3,300mAh battery to boot. Pricing for the Limited Edition model remains unknown, but it’s worth reminding that the standard OnePlus 5T was launched in Europe for around €500- €550.
