The OPPO A73 was announced a couple of days ago in China, as the company’s new mid-range smartphone, and a new OPPO A-branded handset has just surfaced on TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) yet again, as the phone popped up in the beginning of December as well. The device in question is the OPPO A83, while its A83t subvariant also got certified, though that subvariant is completely identical to the A83, which suggests it’s probably meant to be sold by a carrier or something of the sort. In any case, the OPPO A83 actually surfaced in images earlier this month, so we at least knew what to expect in terms of its design, as far as specs are concerned, however, read on.
According to TENAA, the OPPO A83 will sport a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). This handset will be fueled by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.5GHz, though we still do not know what SoC is that exactly. This handset will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with OPPO’s ColorOS custom UI on top of it. A 3,090mAh non-removable battery has also been mentioned by TENAA, while the phone will be available in Black and White color variants, both of which have been revealed by TENAA, one earlier this month, and the other one in this, new listing. The device will weigh 143 grams, while it will measure 150.5 x 73.1 x 7.7mm. As far as cameras are concerned, you can expect to see a 13-megapixel snapper on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel camera on the device’s front side.
Having said that, if you take a look at the provided images down below, you will notice that this phone will sport relatively thin bezels, at least it seems like it, as its display is not powered on. The device will be made out of metal, and interestingly enough, it does not sport a fingerprint scanner at all. The phone’s power / lock key is placed on the right, while its volume up and volume down buttons lie on the left. The OPPO A83 will utilize on-screen buttons, while a 3.5mm headphone jack will also be included here.
