HTC is expected to announce its new flagship in the first half of next year, and some info has surfaced. That smartphone will, allegedly, be called the HTC U12, and according to the info that just popped up, the phone will ship with a 4k display, and a dual camera setup on its back. Now, most of you probably already know that the HTC U11 did not sport a dual camera setup on its back, even though its camera was capable of shooting some really compelling picture, and it still is. Well, it seems like HTC is looking to change things up next year.
Now, in addition to the dual camera setup and a 4K display, the phone is also expected to ship with considerably thinner bezels this time around, and adopt the much-talked-about ‘bezel-less’ design, like many companies thus far. The HTC U12 will be made out of metal and glass, reportedly, and a 3.5mm headphone jack will not be a part of the package. That’s more or less all the info that the source shared, though it remains to be seen how accurate is this info, as it’s still a bit too early for the HTC U12 spec leaks, especially accurate ones. Despite the fact the source claims that a 4K display will be a part of the HTC U12, that is not exactly likely, but the rest of the leaked info seems to be spot on. The HTC U11 was also made out of metal, though it has pretty thick bezels which kept some people away from getting it, though HTC did a solid job when it comes to that phone, it offered a really compelling camera, snappy UI, good display, and so on.
HTC’s fans were concerned when it comes to the company’s future after HTC agreed to sell quite a large chunk of its workforce to Google, but HTC reassured consumers that the company’s smartphone will keep on coming, and that the agreement with Google will not affect that. HTC is expected to announce a number of devices next year, though chances are we’ll see fewer HTC phones than in previous years, as the company hasn’t exactly been selling all that much smartphones, at least not as much as they were expecting, so they’ll probably put more focus on higher-end devices moving forward.
