Unlocked LG V30 Plus Android Flagship Up For Pre-Orders In US

The unlocked version of the LG V30 Plus is now available for pre-orders in the United States, less than a week after the base model of the Android flagship was released in the country as a carrier-free offering. Interested consumers can place an advanced order on the LG V30 Plus through the phone maker or B&H, with both offering it for $929.99, or around $100 more than the regular V30. As expected, the handset works on most major networks in the country, including all of the nationwide ones. If you’re planning on using the LG V30 Plus on T-Mobile, you’ll be able to take advantage of the mobile service provider’s new 600MHz network that’s currently being deployed.

The two-year warranty attached to the original LG V30 also applies to the V30 Plus but requires you to register your purchase with LG, regardless of where you bought the handset. Doing so is free and will extend your warranty by an additional year, which is one of the offers LG introduced to incentivize consumers to purchase its new premium offering. The price difference between the two handsets comes down to two factors – storage and earphones. While the LG V30 ships with 64GB of internal flash memory, the V30 Plus doubles on that figure and also comes bundled with the LG QuadPlay in-ear headphones designed to take full advantage of the quad-DAC setup found inside the handset. The base model still ships with earphones but not ones that will allow you to hear the difference between the LG V30 and a phone that sports less than four DACs.

The Korean company and B&H are yet to attach a firm release date to the unlocked variant of the V30 Plus, though the device is expected to start retailing before Christmas. The flagship’s release was likely timed to coincide with the holiday season, traditionally the most lucrative period of the year for phone makers. The LG V30 Plus already debuted in the U.S. through several wireless carriers and has launched in Japan as the LG V35, whereas it’s also set to officially debut in India this Wednesday, December 13th.
