A device believed to be the Alcatel A3A XL smartphone has now made an appearance on GFXBench and as a result most of its main specs have been revealed. The unannounced device is listed as the TCL 5099, a model number that has previously been associated with the Alcatel A3A XL name, albeit in the form of the 5099a. Therefore, while it could be the case that there is more than one variant of this phone released, the general understanding is this latest listing is referring to the Alcatel A3A XL smartphone – a device that is expected to be a follow on device to the A3 XL smartphone which was first announced last January during CES 2017 and marked the debut product from the company’s ‘A’ line of devices.
As for those specs, the listing shows the A3A XL as coming equipped with a 5-inch display along with 2160 x 1080 resolution. It has previously been suggested that this device might make use of a more traditional 16:9 aspect ratio although the resolution listed here seems to indicate the newer 18:9 standard will be in effect. Inside, the A3A XL is listed as featuring 2GB RAM (listed as 1.9GB), 16GB storage (listed with both 10GB and 11GB), and powered by a MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor (clocking at 1.4 GHz). Other notable feature included a 16-megapixel (listed as 15MP) rear camera, an 8-megapixel (listed as 7MP) front-facing camera, NFC, and Android 8.0 (Oreo) as the pre-installed operating system version.
While not outright confirmed in this latest listing, the Alcatel A3A XL did recently show up at the FCC and the attached image indicated this device will come sporting a dual rear camera setup. Likewise, while also not confirmed in this GFXBench listing, the previous FCC listing did also highlight a 2,900 mAh capacity battery will be included with the A3A XL. The only aspects not revealed in either this GFXBench listing, or the previous FCC listing, is the launch date or the price. Although with CES 2018 just around the corner now, it could be the case full availability details for the Alcatel A3A XL will come to light in the coming days.
