Leak: Xiaomi Mi 6X's Alleged Backplate And Cases Appear

The Xiaomi Mi 5X was announced back in July last year, and despite the fact that its successor is not expected to land for another couple of months, the alleged Xiaomi Mi 6X has just surfaced. Well, the phone itself did not surface, but its back cover did, along with some cases that are allegedly made for the Xiaomi Mi 6X. If today’s leaks are to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi 6X’s back side will look considerably different than Mi 5X’s back panel, read on.

If you take a look at the first image in the gallery down below, you will be able to see the aforementioned back panel. As you can see, the company’s branding is placed in the bottom part of its back side, while the phone will sport a dual camera setup which actually resembles the one included on the iPhone X. We’re looking at a vertical dual camera setup here, while an LED flash is placed right in-between those two cameras. This backplate seems to be made out of metal, and the top antenna line is noticeable here as well. The dual camera setup protrudes on the back of this phone a bit, and this back cover seems to belong to a silver variant of the phone. Interestingly enough, there’s a mysterious hole included on this back cover, and considering its size, this is definitely not a fingerprint scanner, so… our guess is as good as yours.

The second leak that popped up today brings us images of potential Xiaomi Mi 6X cases. The second, third and fourth image in the gallery show off those cases, and unlike the back panel that we’ve just talked about, these cases suggest that the phone will ship with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The dual camera setup seems to be identical to the setup on the leaked backplate, and these are regular silicone cases that we’re looking at here. These cases also suggest that all of Mi 6X’s physical keys will be placed on the right, and that the device will ship with a 3.5mm headphone jack, which will be placed on the bottom of the device. It’s still a bit early to guess what specs will we see on the Mi 6X, but you can expect to get a mid-range smartphone yet again, and its bezels are expected to be considerably thinner compared to the Mi 5X.
